What is happening?

Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) are currently in the process of negotiating their contract.

CUPW has moved to a rotating strike starting October 13. Different locations are shut down on each day which affects mail and parcel transiting through / served by those locations.

This PDF contains the names of the location that are currently on strike.

Please note Courier Economy, Purolator and UPS are not currently affected.

What is the current status?

Canada Post continues to operate and process & deliver mail and parcels. However, due to the backlog accumulated over the past 2 weeks and the continued rotating strike, your packages may take longer than the ETA provided during checkout.

Purolator Ground and Purolator Express added

We've added Purolator Ground and Express as additional shipping methods during checkout. They are almost identical to Canada Post Expedited Parcel and Xpresspost, respectively, in terms of price and delivery standards.

Purolator Express allows keyboards with lithium-ion batteries inside, unlike Xpresspost.

These are different than the Purolator option we had in the past. These two new services will show you the exact shipping rate based on the contents of your cart.

Canada Post Expedited Parcel, Xpresspost & Priority have been restored.

We enabled Canada Post options after having them disabled fo the first half of October. Canada Post rates are more competitive than Purolator while having similar delivery times. This is more true for packages being shipped within the Greater Toronto Area with a sub $5 shipping rate for small packages. Please note that your package may take longer than the ETA quoted in during the checkout due to backlog and the rotating strike.

Purolator shipping methods still qualify for a 50% discount on in-stock orders of $150 CAD or more.

Lettermail replacement

Lettermail shipping method has been reinstated. Please keep in mind it may take slightly longer than usual due to backlog and the rotating strike.

We'll monitor the situation and keep this page updated. Please contact us if you have any questions.
