We offer an optional ShipTection shipping insurance for all orders. You can choose to insure your order against loss, damage or theft for around 2% of the order total.
Simply enable it from the cart page and check out with the ShipTection product along with the rest of the items in your order to purchase protection.
We also offer delivery methods with signature confirmation for a flat fee that helps prevent package theft as well. We do not recommend purchasing both signature confirmation and ShipTection at the same time.
We do not cover package theft after delivery, so we highly recommend you to purchase either signature confirmation or ShipTection insurance for high value orders. Should something go wrong with an insured order, you can choose to receive a refund or replacement, whichever one you prefer.

All tracked shipping methods are covered. Local Pickup orders or Canada Post Lettermail packages are NOT ELIGIBLE for coverage.

Claim filing time frames
Time to File: You must file a claim within 90 days from when you received the tracking number.
Lost Shipments: Wait 14 Days before filing for shipments within Canada. Wait 30 days for shipments to everywhere else.
Damaged Shipments: Must file a claim within 14 days.
How do I file a claim?
You can file a claim in one of three ways within the timeframe mentioned above.
- Send an email to claims@shiptection.com
- Use the chatbot on ShipTection's website
- Submit through insurance partner's portal at InsureShip.com
Whichever method you choose to file, please also let us know by sending an email to help@mech.land. Any claim filed without notifying us may lead to having your account banned from our site.
Required documents
- Online claim form. Available on InsureShip.com or will be provided to you if you contacted ShipTection through email or online chatbot.
- Proof of value / order invoice. The invoice emailed to you when you placed the order should suffice. Please contact us if you need a more traditional invoice.
- Recipient statement of non-receipt or damage
- If applicable, detailed pictures of damage, including photos of the shipping box with packing material used inside.
- A brief statement / affidavit of what happened
- Tracking number
Fraud
Any fraudulent claims will make the recipient liable for any prosecution for mail fraud under the local jurisdiction, which may result in imprisonment of upto 5 years and a fine of $10,000 in the USA, or imprisonment of upto 10 years in Canada.
