Zoom98 will be imported from China into Canada via two separate shipping methods:
Arrives to Canada via a ship. Takes 45-60 days in transit. This is the standard import method used in most keyboard / deskmat group buys. It's much cheaper than Air Express but takes much longer to arrive.
All units ordered via Ocean Freight are scheduled to ship out of Meletrix around January, 2023 and should arrive at Mech.land around March, 2024
Arrives to Canada via a cargo airplane, takes 7-15 days in transit. This import method is very expensive, as such some of the items brought over via Air Express have a markup added to cover the extra expenses
All units ordered via Air Express are scheduled to ship out of Meletrix around late December, 2023 and should arrive at Mech.land around late January / early February, 2024
You cannot combine Ocean Freight and Air Express items in the same order. Each individual order has to contain either all Ocean Freight or all Air Express items. This is because they arrive at different times

Essential Edition has 14 beautiful case colors with an Electrostatic coating. You can choose between the Tri-mode and wired PCB.
Special Edition colors have have an anodized or Electrophoresis finish. They feature an accent chamfer like Z75 SE, Zoom65 SE or Zoompad SE.
A Zoom98 collaboration with SXM Design. The keyboard features unique design patterns throughout the case. A matching keycap set is sold separately.

Before you purchase
Zoom98 units with a tri-mode PCB come with the screen module by default. They do not come with any knob or the knob module
Zoom98 Units with a wired PCB come with the 2-keys module by default. The screen module is not compatible with the wired pcb
The wired PCB does not have any flex-cuts or per-key rgb leds. it does have side ambient lights.
All zoom65/75/98 and Zoompad knobs are compatible with each other.
EE BLACK, WHITE AND STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM WILL HAVE A SLIGHT SPARKLE TO THE FINISH.
Nightlight knobs fit on Zoom98 but they do not illuminate.
Zoom98 modules are not compatible with Zoom75 and vice versa.
Zoom75 and zoom98 badges are compatible with each other.

Blocker Design
You might see renders and photograph with a LED DOT blocker. THIS DESIGN HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE ZOOM LOGO BLOCKER DUE TO PUBLIC FEEDBACK.
All four Zoom65 V2.5 Special Edition have a full aluminum bottom case. The Essential Edition (EE) colorways still come with a glass or PVD SS backplate.
Every Zoom65 V2.5 kit comes with a nightlight knob by default. This knob has a frosted window in the center to let the LED in the encoder stalk shine through
The Tri-Mode PCB support per-key RGB lighting. You can choose from provides a wide range of colors and effects for a different visual experience

Included with each Zoom98 with the Tri-mode PCB, the screen module can display a whole host of useful information including typing speed animation, GPU & CPU temperature, time & date, memos, battery power display, internet speed, messaging sync (Discord, WeChat & QQ), static images and more! Dynamic GIF images will be supported at a later date.
For those who likes things simple and orthodox, there's a two-key module that adds two extra keys that are fully customizable by VIA.
The badge module let's you display a badge in the 2u cluster. Badges are sold separately. Default module included with Zoom98 x Cosmic Odyssey.
The knob module holds a single 1u key and the knob right next to it. This module is not included with any kit by default. Knobs are sold separately. Compatible with all previous Zoom series knobs, however nightlight knobs are not illuminated in Zoom98

Since there are so many variations, many of the images provided on the product page are renders and are for display purposes only. The renders are given to provide an idea to what the final product will look like. The physical product may have some differences. Special Edition Zoom98 will have an accent chamfer on the inside edges similar to Zoom75 SE and Zoompad SE. Chamfers are polished too like in Zoom75.
Whether you pick the Tri-mode or the wired PCB, you can turn on the underglow LEDs for a nice smooth glow under the keyboard. You're able to change the color in software.

Unlike traditional keyboards, you are not stuck with just one layout on Zoom98. Change things up every now and then with split backspace, left shift and spacebar! You can also switch between normal and stepped caps lock or ANSI.
All three of Zoom98 PCBs features Kailh Hot Swap sockets that allow you to just push the switches on, no soldering required! Changing switches is a breeze, you can go from linear to tactile in a matter of minutes, all on the same keyboard!
A slight revision of the new stabilizers were under development for almost one year, and will be included with every edition of the Zoom98/
Zoom98 uses a gasket isolation mount structure for a soft, bouncy and pleasant typefeel that won't fatigue your fingers even after hours of typing. Gasket mount keyboards sound better and feel more even throughout the board than the typical off-the-rack tray mount keyboards.
The gasket sleeves are made of supercritical foam, it can stabilize the plate as the same time giving appropriate space allowing it to flex in a balanced way. Just the right softness, not too stiff, not too much flex.
In order to reduce resonance, many tests were done on the foaming material of the Zoom98. Meletrix made the new PORON lighter and denser, as a result they make the keyboard sound more concentrated and deeper than stock settings.
Plates in other materials, such as brass, aluminum and FR4, can be sold as add-on accessories, and they dramatically change the feel and sound of the keyboard
Take your keyboard to the next level with an internal SS weight, sold separately. It weighs about 471 grams.
Zoom98 comes with almost everything you need to put together your first keyboard, including an USB-C cable, premium WS stabilizer v3.1 and a storage box. All you need to get are switches and keycaps of your choice and you're all set!
