PCB

There are six total PCBs available for HX40. You can choose any one of them with each keyboard kit, and you can also order additional ones separately.

All PCBs support all layouts. The plate of your choice dictates the layout.

PCBs are split into two categories

- Takes traditional mechanical switches

- 1.6mm thick PCB

- Hot-swap sockets

- VIAL compatible.

- Takes EC (Electro-Capacitive) switches only. Please note it's not the same as HE

- 1.2mm thick PCB

- VIAL compatible.

Both MX and EC PCBs come in three connectivity variants

1. Single Mode

Supports wired connection only.

2. Dual Mode

Supports wired and Bluetooth connection.

3. Tri-mode

Supports wired, Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz connection.

When chosen as part of the kit, both Dual Mode and Tri-Mode PCBs come with batteries included. When purchased separately, batteries are NOT included.

If you're buying multiple PCBs, please make sure to choose the Dual / Triple-mode PCB for the keyboard kit so you get the batteries with it.

Plates

By default, each HX40 with an MX PCB comes with an FR4 plate, and each HX40 with an EC PCB comes with an Stainless Steel plate.

The EC PCBs are only compatible with the Stainless Steel plate. MX PCBs are compatible with every other plate except for Stainless Steel.

The HX40 plates are only offered in fixed layouts for the best sound / typefeel. Please choose the plate carefully for the layout and PCB intended, or buy multiple plates in different layout to change things up every now and then!

EC Accessories Kit

Comes with enough components to assemble at least 46 EC switches.

This kit comes free with all HX40 kits with an EC PCB. Additional, identical kits can be purchased separately.

Delivery Estimates

Title

Ocean Freight

Arrives to Canada via a ship. Takes 45-60 days in transit. This is the standard import method used in most keyboard / deskmat group buys. It's much cheaper than Air Express but takes longer to arrive.

All units ordered via Ocean Freight are scheduled to ship out of Kezewa around March, 2026 and should arrive to us 45 to 60 days later.

Air Express

Arrives to Canada via a cargo airplane, takes 7-18 days in transit. This import method is very expensive, as such some of the items brought over via Air Express have a markup added to cover the extra expenses

All units ordered via Air Express are scheduled to ship out of Wuque Studio around March, 2026 and should arrive to us 5 to 10 days later.

IMPORTANT

You cannot combine Ocean Freight and Air Express items in the same order. Each individual order has to contain either all Ocean Freight or all Air Express items. This is because they arrive at different times

Please keep in mind the ETA is just our best guess according to the information currently available to us. Unexpected issues and delays can happen at every stage of the process.

Combinations

Barring stabilizers, you cannot add any in-stock items to your order as we cannot guarantee its availability when the group buy is ready to ship.

If you're subscribed to our email list, you'll get an email before your group buy is ready to ship. In that email there will be instructions on how to add in-stock items to your group buy order and have them all ship together to save on shipping fees.

Modifications

You may modify your order until November 15, 2025

Please send an email to help@mech.land from the email address associated with your order and list the changes you'd like to see made.

Cancellations

You may cancel your order and get a refund until November 15, 2025

Please keep in mind we may keep 4.5% of the total from the refund as we do not get the transaction fees back from our payment processor. We may apply an additional penalty of up to 15% of the total if you choose to cancel after group buy is over.
